Biography
SORIN COLIBAN was born in Bukarest and studied there at the Music Adademy. He has sung, among others at the ROH Covent Garden, at three of the Paris Opera Houses, in Athens, San Francisco, Santiago de Chile, Tel Aviv, the Rossini Festival in Pesaro, at the Bayerische Staatsoper, in Amsterdam (Concertgebouw), at the Deutschen Oper am Rhein, at the Wiener Festwochen, the Bregenzer Festspielen and the Wiener Volksoper. In summer 2013, he gave his debut at the Bayreuther Festspielen, and in 2014 he will give his debut at the Opera in Lausanne. His repertoire includes works such as Philipp II., Fiesco, Procida, Ramfis, Ferrando, Banquo, Don Giovanni, Leporello and Commendatore, Sarastro, Guglielmo, Lord Sidney, Holländer, König Marke and Timur. He gave his debut at the Wiener Staatsoper in 2004 as Monterone (Rigoletto), and has since then sung among others, the Grand Inquisiteur (Don Carlos), Landgraf (Tannhäuser), Basilio (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Capulet (Roméo et Juliette), Fra Melitone (La forza del destino), Fasolt (Das Rheingold), Bartolo (Le nozze di Figaro) and Colline (La Bohème). http://www.wiener-staatsoper.at/Content.Node/home/kuenstler/saengerinnen/Coliban.en.php
