The son of Bobby Unser and nephew of Al Unser Sr., Robby has competed in various racing disciplines, including the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, Indy Lights, and the Indy Racing League (IRL). Robby Unser began his racing career in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, a family tradition, where he achieved multiple class victories. He then moved to Indy Lights, where he was competitive and consistent, finishing as a top-five driver in several seasons.
