Maria Kitsou
Biography
Maria Kitsou (August 5, 1979) is a Greek actress, a graduate of the Drama School of the National Theatre. In 2009, she starred in the television series Karyotakis, embodying the face of the poet Maria Polydouri. In 2012, she won the Melina Merkouri Award for her performance in "Orphans" by Dennis Kelly, directed by Vangelis Theodoropoulos, at the theater of Neos Kosmos. She was also nominated for the same award in 2008, for her performance in Maxim Gorky's "At the Bottom". In 2014, she won the 1st Prize for Best Female Performance at the 2nd All4fun Audience Theatrical Awards for her performance in the play "Armadale" directed by Constantinos Aspiotis. In 2016, she won the 1st Prize for Best Actress at the 4th All4fun Audience Theater Awards for her performance in the play "Miss Julia" directed by Lillys Melemé. She became particularly known to the general public for her participation in the drama series Wild Bees (2019-2022) which was shown on ANT1. In the series she plays one of the leading roles, Eleni Stamiri.
